Marine Alarm and Monitoring Systems (AMS):

One of the services we offer to the marine industry is a tailor made new and upgraded Alarm Monitoring Systems (AMS).

The FirstClass Safety and Control marine AMS enhances efficiency and operator visualisation for all types of vessel and is able to monitor manned and unmanned applications. The system has the facility to identify and monitor irregularities in marine engines, generators, tanks and additional service systems. Our AMS is able to view, notify direct to engineer’s cabins, store and print alarm notifications and then the stored data can subsequently be analysed at a future date. Providing a valuable information resource for ships engineers and crew, that in turn reduces the potential damage to operational systems and customers’ safety risks.

The FCSC team’s combined experience of over 100 years means they are able to draw on their multi-industry knowledge to develop innovative, purpose-built marine solutions.

A perfect example is the current system being developed for the M/Y Haida 1929. A recently restored luxury yacht from the 1920’s. Having maintained its original twin diesel engines the yacht requires a custom made upgrade to the original AMS which can integrate with the original ships mechanisms and recent renovation. We’re proud to be a part of Haida 1929’s amazing history and renovation.

Our main area of operation in this field is control and monitoring of engine plants or rooms using programmable Logic Controllers (PLC’s) or Pneumatics. FCSC has also helped customers who have experienced poor OEM support on Obsolete equipment.

Our Engineers have experience working on several different classes of vessels such as, Tankers, Royal Fleet Auxiliary (RFA), Diving Support Vessels (DSV), Tugs, Roll on Roll off (RoRo), and Super Yachts. We have travelled extensively around Europe, the United States and the Far East in order to carry out this work.

FCSC Engineers are used on all our jobs with contract technicians used only when large contracts are in progress. All engineers are qualified to HNC standard or equivalent with one apprentice in training.

Service & Maintenance

We provide maintenance not only to our own marine alarm management system equipment but also to other OEM supplied systems. Travelling to vessels worldwide to assist in breakdowns, servicing and maintenance.

Obsolete

PLC Programming – Where older systems which have PLC’s fitted become Obsolete, FirstClass Safety & Control can provide both hardware and software upgrades and support to keep the older equipment functioning without the need for lengthy or costly upgrades.
