HOW IT WORKS

How a Depot Protection System Works

A Depot Protection System establishes controlled conditions before allowing a rail vehicle movement to take place. The system monitors relevant safety inputs and prevents a movement from proceeding until the required conditions are satisfied and movement is authorised.

Depending on the application, this can include vehicle detection, points position, signalling, personnel access, RFID, warnings and the status of connected depot equipment. Safety-critical interlocking ensures these elements operate together as part of the required sequence.

What is a Depot Protection System?
